Job Summary:

The Radiology/Cardiology X-Ray Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures in an acute care hospital setting. This role involves operating X-ray and fluoroscopy equipment to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. The technician collaborates with medical staff to ensure accurate imaging, maintains patient safety, and adheres to regulatory standards. The position requires at least one year of experience, relevant certifications, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic X-ray and fluoroscopy procedures according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Prepare patients for imaging by explaining procedures and positioning them appropriately.
• Operate and maintain radiologic equipment ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
• Collaborate with radiologists, cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals to obtain accurate imaging results.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures in electronic medical systems.
• Ensure compliance with radiation safety and infection control policies.
• Float between radiology and cardiology units as needed to support patient care.
• Respond to on-call duties as required.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Valid California State License for Radiologic Technology.
• Certification in Fluoroscopy.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in radiologic technology.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in acute care hospital settings.
• Familiarity with Epic electronic medical record system.
• Comfortable floating between radiology and cardiology units.
• Strong communication and patient care skills.

Special Considerations:

• On-call availability is required.
• Floating between like units (radiology and cardiology) is expected.
• Adherence to hospital dress code with radiology staff wearing black scrubs.
• Compliance with hospital Return-to-Office (RTO) policies as specified at submission.

Scheduling:

• Day shifts from 07:30, working Friday through Sunday.
• Start date ASAP.
• Block scheduling accommodations available at manager's discretion.
• Weekend work required as per schedule.
