Baptist Health is hiring a Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team at Baptist Medical Center-Clay in Fleming Island, FL. This is a PRN opportunity. This Registered Nurse position has a call requirement, which includes a 40-minute call response time. This position is self-scheduled based on the department needs. This role qualifies for a competitive call differential.
\n \nAs a Registered Nurse in the Main Operating Room, you will work closely with physicians and all operating room teams. This Registered Nurse will check in and receive patient assignments. A day in the life of this Operating Room Registered Nurse will vary based on scheduled surgeries. This RN may work with a singular patient in a complex case or may work with multiple patients having shorter procedures. This RN will work as a Circulating Nurse and will meet patients in the OR and remain with them for the duration of their procedure to ensure they are appropriately cared for until transferred to PACU care. As a Registered Nurse Circulator, you will be the patient's primary advocate and responsible for the delivery and documentation of patient care during the intra-operative period. This may include verifying patient information, positioning the patient, managing the room, and initiating counts.
\n \nRegistered Nurse Job Responsibilities:
\nProviding for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement organization.
\nSupervision of care provided by supportive personnel and coordination of care provided by ancillary services.
\nIncluding patients and significant other (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care.
\nEducation of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care
\nCoordination and preparation of assigned room/case, assessment of patient care needs and the anticipation of needs of the case.
\nThis position requires call.
\nRegistered Nurse Experience:
\n2-3 years Surgical Services Experience
\n2-3 years Critical Care Nursing Experience
\n \nRegistered Nurse Education & Credential Requirements:
\nAssociate of Science in Nursing (required)
\nBachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
\nBasic Life Support (BLS) Required
\nAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
\nConscious Sedation Certification
\nCertified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) Preferred Or
\nCertified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) Preferred Or
\nLicensed Registered Nurse Required
