Job Description

Our client, a professional services company based in Manhattan, is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support their finance team on a part-time basis. This role handles day-to-day transaction processing, account reconciliation, and financial record maintenance for a small but growing office.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software and is comfortable managing multiple client ledgers simultaneously. This position offers flexible scheduling and is well suited to a candidate looking for consistent part-time work in a stable office environment.

The company values accuracy and reliability, and this role reports directly to the Controller. Strong candidates will have prior experience in a small business or professional services accounting environment.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly
• Maintain general ledger entries and journal postings
• Prepare basic financial reports for management review
• Assist with payroll processing and timesheet verification
• Track and file expense reports and vendor invoices
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Communicate with vendors and clients regarding billing questions

Requirements

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2 or more years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines
• Understanding of basic accounting principles
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Discretion when handling confidential financial information
